New episode of Omnisphere teasers available

Are you guys following the “soap opera” on Omnisphere? Part three have just been posted, showing how Spectrasonics uses psychoacoustics to generate new sounds. I’m watching it right, and it’s actually really inspiring!

Check out episode three here at Spectrasonics

Part 2 of Omnisphere teaser is now up

I wish Spectrasonics would post these in Youtube format so I could just insert the videos here (hint, hint).

Anyway, part 2 is now up. It shows a little from Spectrasonics demoing it at NAMM, a lot of user opinions, and it also talks a little about the features (like the arpeggiator).

If you missed it, you can read the press release of Omnisphere here, and about the technology behind it - the STEAM engine - here.

Crazy, crazy I tell you. But what was the quality on the new products announced there?

STEAM is important to Spectrasonics’ future because it completes the technology transition from earlier performance virtual instruments that were based on the licensed UVI Engine.

NAMM is drawing near

As I’m sure you know, NAMM starts soon. NAMM is a place to present new products, and I will of course do my best to report about what’s going on there. So what will be there? I’ve heard about a lot of new basses and guitars (yeah, like that was a surprise!) but as you know I don’t really write much about those kind of instruments here. Here are some of the things that I’ve gathered from around the web, and got told about in emails and press releases that have been sent to me.
