Sonnox has introduced ‘Sonnox ELITE,’ including their entire product line. The Sonnox lineup of plug-ins has now grown to seven in total: the Oxford EQ, Dynamics, Inflator, Transient Modulator, Reverb, Limiter and SuprEsser. The ‘ELITE’ bundle is offered at 40% discount from individual unit prices meaning it retails at £1,554 for the TDM version and £744 for Native.
In announcing the new bundle, Sonnox Sales & Marketing Manager Nathan Eames remarked
While we will continue to offer custom bundle options, which enable customers to literally pick’n’mix their own plug-in bundles, Sonnox ELITE is aimed at those who want all our plug-ins at the best possible price.
(From the Sonnox press release)
In addition to Sonnox ELITE, two other bundles are also available.
Sonnox Essential: Oxford EQ, Dynamics, Reverb and SuprEsser. Offered at a 30% discount from individual unit prices, Sonnox Essential retails at £1,222 (TDM) and £571 (Native).
Sonnox Enhance: Oxford Inflator, Limiter and Transient Modulator (’loudness, presence and punch bundle’). Sonnox Enhance retails at £634 (TDM) and £319 (Native).
After a lot of trying different de-essers I’m finally ready to post a review of the new Sonnox SuprEsser. I’ve also made a video for you to watch where I’m basically showing it in operation. So how does it fare against the rest of the new breed of de-essers? Read on and thou shalt know! Read more →
Sonnox traces back to Sony Oxford who besides making a legendary digital console (OXF-R3, ‘the Oxford console’) also made some of the most popular plug-ins ever. Not long ago they released their first plug-in since the breakup from Sony so I thought it would only be fitting to ask them some questions. Read more →
I think this was announced for release in march, but I got a tip that it started shipping just now (anyone correct me if I’m wrong). TC Electronics DSP solution, the new PowerCore X8, is now shipping in ‘Sonnox Edition’, this basically means it includes Sonnox Oxford EQ and Oxford Dynamics in addition to 15 other plug-ins. The suggested retail price is €1599.
The new Sonnox plug-in, a dynamic EQ called Oxford SuprEsser, is now available from Sonnox website. An early purchase discount of 10% applies until June 30th 2008.
There have been a lot of talk about a new coming product from Sonnox, and according to Gearjunkies it’s called SuprEsser.
The Sonnox Oxford SuprEsser is both a very highly-featured professional De-Esser and a Dynamic EQ at the same time. There is a basic mode for quick fixes, but also an advanced mode for increased functionality and fine-tuning. The combination of an intuitive FFT display and three listen modes enables the user to easily see and hear exactly where the problem frequencies are, allowing the rapid reduction or removal of the offending audio. Rather than simply allowing a frequency to trigger full-band compression, only the offending frequencies are carefully carved out leaving the rest of the mix untouched.
Since the SuprEsser can operate at all frequencies, ‘plosives’ and other annoyances can also be removed effortlessly, making it more than a simple De-Esser. Additional features include Automatic Level Tracking, Linear Phase Filtering and a Wet/Dry blend control for final balancing.
As I’m sure you know, NAMM starts soon. NAMM is a place to present new products, and I will of course do my best to report about what’s going on there. So what will be there? I’ve heard about a lot of new basses and guitars (yeah, like that was a surprise!) but as you know I don’t really write much about those kind of instruments here. Here are some of the things that I’ve gathered from around the web, and got told about in emails and press releases that have been sent to me. Read more →
Now that we have featured fourteen EQs totally in our series of Spotlights on EQs, as well as reviewed two in conjunction with these Spotlights, I think we should wrap this baby up with sort of an “ultimate conclusion”. There are of course many more EQs out there, but we can’t run Spotlight on EQs only, we have to make room for other stuff as well. Read more →
We continue with our roundup on EQs, for this edition of Spotlight it’s time to get surgical AND to check out what could be some really good mastering plug-ins. First out is a classic. Read more →
