112dB has updated Redline Monitor, their near-field monitor simulation for headphones, to version 1.0.4.
What’s new?
What’s fixed?
Is it just me or is there a lot of offers this month? Anyway, Vienna is giving away Soprano Choir for free if you purchase the Standard Library of the Vienna Special Edition or the Special Edition PLUS between March 1 and March 31.
With the release of v1.0.15, The Glue bus compressor from Cytomic is now available for Windows RTAS users as well.
Here are the features and fixes:
It’s labeled “beta”, so Cytomic obviously want to test it a little more.
Eventide has announced that the Eventide Reverb from Anthology II bundle will be available for the entire month of March for $199. After this offer is over it won’t be available as a single plug-in again.
From Eventide:
This full-featured, flexible, multi-effect plug-in born from Eventide’s flagship H8000 processor, the Eventide Reverb features nine room types, randomizing modulation, a Low-Fi effect, as well as a compressor, parametric EQ, and stereo delays.
As far as reverbs go, the Eventide ones are the best I’ve ever heard. I’m definitely getting one of their hardware units one day.
McDSP is running a 30% off sale until May when the AU versions are released and the prices increase.
At the moment I’m mostly using the two limiters Retro Limiter and ML4000 and at times Futzbox. Also really like the Retro EQ and am really looking forward to the upcoming compressor.
Studio Devil has updated Virtual Bass Amp to version 1.2. The major change is supposedly better stability for Windows RTAS users.
So far bx_digital has been a stereo only EQ. It might sound weird, but it was intended for mastering so I guess Brainworx didn’t care much about using it on mono tracks – until now. bx_digital V2 MONO has just entered public beta and the final version will be released March 4th. The beta is a 14-day trial and iLok is required.
All bx_digital V2 owners will of course be eligible for a free version. Price for others are €149 (Native) or €225 (TDM). In typical Brainworx fashion there will also be an introductory offer, giving buyers a 33% discount until March 31st.
Brainworx has also released a V2 version of their freebie bx_cleansweep. I’m not sure what the differences between the old and the new versions are though.

Cedar has announced a new version of their highly regarded noise suppressors in plug-in format. Cedar DNS One, as it’s called, will certainly make more than a few professionals working in post very happy.
From Cedar:
Offering all the power and audio quality of our dedicated hardware products, DNS One is a superbly flexible, fully automated implementation of DNS designed specifically for Pro Tools users. It’s ideal for all studio environments, and especially for post-production for film, TV and video.
You control DNS One using the dedicated DNS Control System software. More than just a GUI for DNS One, this RTAS plug-in for Pro Tools LE and HD systems runs on both Mac OS X and Windows, and allows you to control as many instances of DNS One as your host system can support, plus up to 126 DNS2000s and/or DNS3000s. It is also fully integrated with Pro Tools automation and its hardware control surfaces such as the Icon, D-Control and D-Command. The DNS Control System is completely cross-compatible between DNS One, the DNS2000 and the DNS3000, so users can install DNS One alongside existing hardware units, creating sessions on one and later, if desired, recalling them on either of the others.
