On October 1st Sonivox will release a new synthesizer called Vocalizer. If you think it’s another way to get those dreadfully overused vocal sounds we’re flooded with today then you’re right. It does seem to take it one step further though and when they get into sound design in the video above I’m actually a little interested.
Sonnox has introduced two new bundles, Sonnox Post and Sonnox Broadcast.
The Sonnox Post bundle includes Sonnox Restore, which in itself includes DeClicker, DeBuzzer and DeNoiser. Other plug-ins found in Sonnox Post are Oxford EQ, Dynamics, Limiter, Reverb and SuprEsser.
Sonnox Post is available with a 30% introductory discount for: £1,526 ($2,570) TDM or £1,093 ($1,835) Native.
Sonnox Broadcast is a smaller bundle aimed towards – you guessed it – the broadcast market. It includes Oxford EQ and Dynamics plug-ins, Inflator, Oxford Limiter and SuprEsser.
Sonnox Broadcast is available with a 30% introductory discount for: £792 ($1,342) TDM or £405 ($685) Native.
Waves is offering you to buy the SSL4000 Collection, API Collection, Studio Series and/or Studio Collection at a 35% discount. Offer ends September 30th.
If you remember, Brainworx announced a new plug-in called bx_shredspread a while ago (it’s still a kickass name). Now it’s available, and launched with a very aggressive discount if I may say so myself.
According to Brainworx, it’s €59 if you own any bx_plugin (I guess this doesn’t mean the free ones) and €89 if you don’t own any but buy before September 30th. Regular price is €119.
Recap: what’s bx_shredspread besides a cool name? Despite the look, it’s not another amp simulator, it’s an M/S tool to help you achieve wide guitar tones.
McDSP keeps rolling out new offers that seems they are coming straight from me. The latest one is a three day limited deal which includes Channel G Compact and ML4000. Channel G is a very nice channelstrip that I’ve used a lot in the past and I know Channel G Compact sounds the same. ML4000 has been my go-to limiter since it was released. But as always, try before you buy.
Price is $229 for Native and $479 for HD. The offer is valid through August 25, 2010.
Native Instruments has released Battery 3.1, a free update to owners of Battery 3. Perhaps the most important news is that it now includes the Vintage Sound Emulation technology from Maschine 1.5. This basically emulates the charachteristics of the MPC-60 and the SP-1200 drum machines.
Other major news include a right-click MIDI Learn function, multi-processor support, full Mac OS X 64bit support, improved sample relocation, more flexible loading functions, and various minor optimizations.
Sounds like a sweet update but I know I’m not the only one who would be interested in seeing a Battery 4.
EastWest has released The Dark Side, a new virtual instrument with dark and eerie sounds created and produced by Doug Rogers and David Fridmann. I think it’s mostly something for people doing film or video game music but if you want some ghostly sounds for your band I’m sure it would be worth looking at as well.

W43 is a new noise reduction plug-in from Waves, inspired by the CAT43. It has four fixed frequency bands and zero latency. Mercury V7 owners covered by Waves Update Plan receive W43 at no additional charge. If you want to buy it as a single plug-in it will cost you $300 for Native and $600 for TDM.
For three days only – August 10 to 12 – you can get Analog Channel and Futzbox at a special discount, $229 Native and $479 HD. One could easily think that McDSP have been reading my blogs about their past offers. Both of these plug-ins are mainstays in my folder and sessions. Highly recommended. But as always, try the demo first, just remember you only have three days to decide.
