It’s been a while since we heard anything from Eiosis, but they now have a new version of their AirEQ. AirEQ 5.1 Native for iLok now supports AU, RTAS and AudioSuite formats.
AirEQ 5.1 features: (from the Eiosis press release)
Multichannel 5.1 plugin : allows equalizing 5.1 busses with unprecedented ease of use. Dedicated LR, LsRs, Center and LFE channels are directly accessible in a mouse click.
5.1 Options : you can link the different channels, configure the 5.1 busses, and use the numerous display options of AirEQ…
Musical Adjustement : The AirEQ sound is made not only by its accurate analog matched curves: when you adjust the AirEQ parameters, the variation follows your hearing sensation. The result is more natural, and you obtain the right sound and equalization setting quicker.
While AirEQ is no longer a regular in my sessions I still like this plug-in. It’s different from basically any other EQ I’ve tried. If you haven’t tried it you should give the demo a go.
The AirEQ 5.1 Native is available in the Eiosis’ store for €200, the TDM version is available for €400.
The standard AirEQ’s price is now €180 instead of €200.

The Eiosis transient designer E²Transienter (previous post) is now available. According to Eiosis it’s actually far more than a simple transient designer, and can be used in many situations, including high demanding mastering jobs.
Check out the video of the E²Transienter on their website and decide for yourself.
It is available now for MAC OSX with iLok in AU, RTAS and TDM formats.
VST, AU, RTAS formats for both OSX and Windows will be available soon with Syncrosoft.

As promised, Eiosis continues their E² series that started with E²deesser with another plug-in. This time a transient designer that’s supposedly more than just that. Knowing their other products, I find little reason to doubt them.

This review is a little late for more than one reason. One reason however, is entirely intentional, and it’s because of my previous experience with the Eiosis products.

The version 1.6 of the ELS Vocoder brings a smaller interface option which allows using the ELS Vocoder with laptop screen resolutions more comfortably.
You can now switch between both sizes with a simple option, and you need to reload the ELS Vocoder to apply the GUI settings.
With the small interface size, you can access the same modules than with the normal size interface, by clicking on the corresponding tab.

The E²Deesser version 1.1 brings a variable lookahead delay, which allows getting very smooth responses and unprecedented processing transparency for a de-esser.
You can choose between zero delay latency, a short latency or a long latency. The lookahead value is adjusted according to the detection and latency parameters, while keeping fixed plugin latency for the host automatic delay compensation.
The sibilants attacks can be then perfectly detected without using a low response parameter, i.e. fast attack and release behaviors. Thus you can obtain a very smooth and transparent de-essing process : even with extreme sibilant reduction, the voice always sounds natural, without any abruptness or “lisp” effect.
For live or tracking situations, the zero delay latency remains a very efficient and transparent option, when extreme sibilant reduction is not necessary.

Eiosis has now released the E²Deesser. The E²Deesser features Eiosis’ patented, exclusive processing structure and algorithm to bring you a new approach to de-essing. It allows the independent processing of sibilants inside vocal tracks in an extremely easy to use and efficient manner.
