New updates are available for the iZotope products Ozone, Trash and Spectron. Among the changes are the removed support of 10.3.9, so make sure you’re running the right OS for the update. The other change is the added support for Unicode characters in the preset folders.

We aren’t exactly flooded with tape emulations on the market, and the competition is very tough. VirSyn has a line of some impressive products, including the synth POSEIDON (review here), and the reverb REFLECT (review here). To make their set of tape plugins more complete VirSyn have added a Tape Flanger plugin simulating the playback of two tape machines running at slightly different speed. In addition to this new plugin they have also updated Saturator and Delay to version 1.1.

iZotope has updated Ozone to v3.14, Trash to v1.13 and Spectron to v1.13. They’re all intended for increased stability and performance. They now also support Leopard.

Amp simulators is nothing new. IK Multimedia was early out with their Amplitube which most Pro Tools LE users probably have used, and HD users have been blessed with Amp Farm. Native Instruments, Waves and others have taken up the battle with their own amp simulators. I guess Digidesign got tired in seeing people shell out money for other plug-ins than their own, because now they’ve released Eleven.
