Already time for AES again! Man, time flies. Unfortunately I won’t be attending it this year. The worst part about that isn’t necessarily that I can’t go around molesting the latest gear, but that I’ll miss all the kickass parties I’ve been invited to! Oh well. I’ll of course do my best to cover the news, and hopefully some friendly dude or dudette will supply me with some floor footage as well (if you’re going and is interested, let me know).

Auralex delivers SonicPrint, called “the latest innovation in absorptive acoustic treatment”. While pictures to me is hardly an innovation, I must say it’s a welcomed idea. No reason to use mono-color when you can go movie poster style to fine art or submit your own photography or artwork to your acoustical treatment package.

Auralex Acoustics’ Studiofoam SmartPaks are available in several combinations, including 2″ and 4″ packages consisting of Studiofoam Wedges or Pyramids as well as a pack of LENRD® (Low-End Node Reduction Device) Bass Traps. The 2″ Studiofoam SmartPak totals 48 square feet with 12 wedge or pyramid 2′x2′ panels per pack. The 4″ Studiofoam SmartPak totals 24 square feet with 6 2′x2′ panels packaged together, and the LENRD SmartPak includes 4 bass traps. All SmartPak’s are available in charcoal, purple and burgundy.

Alternate colors and alternate sizes, such as 1″ and 3″ products, are available via special order in standard packaging. The Performance Series of Roominator Kits are also available using SmartPak technology, including the Project 2, the Pro Plus and the Deluxe Plus Kits.
