There’s nothing fun in the news today, and I didn’t want to leave you with nothing, so I thought I’d share two Youtube clips with you that I watched when I had coffee this morning.

The first is minimalist composer John Adams (no, not the politician) dishing on pop culture.

The other is perhaps John Adams precursor, minimalist composer Philip Glass. I actually have his biography in the bookshelf but haven’t read it yet. He did ‘Einstein on the beach’ (which is probably his most famous piece but I never got into it) and Koyaanisqatsi. Repetitive stuff.

Jack Joseph Puig on using your instinct. Watch out, this one is loud.

Here are two videos shot by the Swedish magazine Studio where they’re trying to see just how tough the SM58 really is (don’t worry, you won’t need to understand Swedish to enjoy these).
