Commercial time… Avid’s new hardware video

Here’s Avid’s video showing and discussing the new hardware (previous post).

By the way, the product pages for the new hardware and HEAT are now up on Avid’s website.

New Spectrasonics video jam – ‘The Face’

George Duke + Greg Phillinganes – “The Face” from Spectrasonics on Vimeo.

Here’s a new artist video from Spectrasonics. It features George Duke on Wurlitzer piano, Greg Phillinganes on Trilian acoustic bass and Bob Wilson on drums.

I just recently installed Trilian by the way and find these artist videos very inspiring. Check out the rest of them if you haven’t already.

New titles from Groove3 + big sale

Groove3 has announced three new instruction DVD’s. From Drop to Top is a five hours long tutorial from DrFord, teaching you the art of hiphop. Melodyne Explained is, well, I suppose Melodyne Explained, by Eli Krantzberg. Finally, there’s a new DVD called Soundtrack Pro Explained by Doug Zangar.

Groove3 is also running a sale on everything, 30% off if you enter coupon code: crazycode8

Screencast #1: Live Composition in Under 8 minutes

A nice little video of someone scoring a piece in about 7:30 minutes. Inspiring… To me at least.

Laidback Luck Studio by Joachim Garraud

Found this on Gearslutz. You can do a lot with just a laptop! At least if you’re into this kind of sound (unfortunately I’m not). LOVE the interviewers reaction when he sees the studio!

If you curious about just how well the Ohm Studio (previous post), first real online collaboration DAW, actually works I suggest you check out the video above.

Battery 3 tutorial DVD from ASK Video

ASK Video has released a new tutorial video showing you the ins and outs of Battery 3. Your tutor is Chris Butcher.

From the ASK Video press release:

Butcher takes the user from setup to mastery in 31 professionally produced, high quality videos for more than 3 hours of video instruction, complete with examples. Beginning with chapters such as Master Section Tour, Edit Page Tour, Loading a Drum Kit, and Audio and MIDI Settings, he quickly has the user up and running. From there, the DVD progresses into chapters on Controls, Using Cells, and Constructing and Mapping Your Own Kit, before delving into advanced topics like Wave Editing, Modulation, Effects and Quantization.

I wish companies such as this would upload a chapter or two on Youtube or Vimeo or something.

Price is $39.99.
