Tommy Lee is making an album and you have the chance to be part of it. I usually don’t post about this kind of pure advertising but I realized there were some really good stuff happening around it!

And what’s the cool stuff happening around it? Well, they keep posting tips as well as other videos of the site. The tips so far are on the basic side, but might be interesting to some. Also, there’s a Q&A forum with Tommy Lee and the others set up at Gearslutz that will be starting this weekend.

Loopmasters, a website providing samples and loops from some of the best producers in the world, in association with this lovely website you know as ProToolerBlog is running a ‘Production Surgery Competition’.

What you do is head over to the Loopmasters blog, download some loops from the widget and make a track. The widget makes it easy to preview the loops before you download them. When you’re done with your track you submit it via the dropbox.

Be sure to include your name and your email address when you upload. The lucky winner will receive 5 Artists Series DVDs, and the runner up will get 1 Artist Series DVD. Submissions will be accepted until September 30th. Good luck!

The Prime Loops contest has ended and the winners have been picked by a ruthless jury. We didn’t agree on all occasions, but I think the winners deserved it. It was tough to pick them and there were several other songs in the discussions, so if you didn’t make it don’t get too depressed.
