Happy new year

Hi guys and gals,

I just wanted to wish you all a very happy new year and thank you all for your support. I’m honored to have you as my readers and without you this blog wouldn’t exist.

What’s in store for this year? I’ll let you know soon. I’ll take the time to relax for the rest of the evening but tomorrow it’s business as usual.

Thank you all again. I hope you’ll continue to stop by here this year as well.

More free instruments for Kontakt

Hi guys and gals,

I’ve updated the Free instruments for Kontakt post with a couple of new instruments in case you’re looking for some new sounds, a little inspiration, or just have too much space on your hard drive.

Major server crash

As some have seen we have experienced a lot of downtime the past 24 hours and for a short period of time massive data loss as well. Fortunately most of the site has been recovered (for a while there I thought we had lost everything since August 1st!) but some of it is gone. I apologize for the inconvenience. Believe me, if most of it hadn’t been restored heads would have rolled. I guarantee you that I will make everything I can to have the new ProTooler more stable then the mess we’ve seen lately.

itb

At the moment I’m living ITB, or perhaps in a box, but as soon as I’m halfway out the new site will be coming to a www near you soon, ready to kick some serious ass.

New endeavors

softube

It’s with great honor I tell you that as of this week I will do some work for Softube. Hopefully you will feel my presence in the company soon.

As many of you probably know, I think Softube are among the absolute best plug-in developers today, as is obvious from my constant praise of their products. This, and the fact that me and Softube usually are on the same page whether we’re discussing business or drinking high-end beer in Frankfurt, makes it all very exciting to me.

Change – but how?

It was quite some time ago that I started to realize I want to change ProTooler Blog. Since then I’ve had many different thoughts as to how that would happen. Some ideas have been kept, others scratched. But now I want you to chime in. After all, this website is not just for me, and it wouldn’t be what it is without you, so let’s discuss!

Basically I want your opinion on anything regarding the website.

ProTooler is at the moment very news-based. Is this the right direction? Is the most important thing to have the latest news up fast? Perhaps you would be more interested in seeing slower paced news reporting but with more of my opinions baked into it? Perhaps you don’t want to see any of my opinion and think I should just copy press releases? Perhaps news should only be posted every third day in one post summing everything up? I’m all ears.

At the beginning ProTooler was more focused on reviews, being first in the world publishing reviews on many products. Is this something you wish would be more emphasized again?

What about other non-news articles? What about tips? Perhaps more tips on Pro Tools? More tips on mixing? Plug-in specific tips?

Lets challenge the very name of this website. Is it important that it is so aimed towards Pro Tools?

Please let me know what you think. Your opinion is highly regarded and I have in the past made several changes based on what you, dear reader, say.

Downtime last night

We had some downtime last night. I have no idea what the reason was, but I apologize for it. As I’ve said before I think this happens way too often now so I’m about to change location for my web content.

I’ll be back with more posts later today, but now I’m hitting the beach! The weather is way too good for Pro Tools today.

Prime Loops contest winners… stay tuned… again

Sorry for the delay! I was hoping to have the Prime Loops contest winners up this weekend but I experienced some issues. The winners will almost certain be presented tomorrow (if not today already, but I’m a little short on time today so don’t count on it).

Thanks for your patience.
