Major downtime, plenty of testposts etc.

My apologies for not having more ‘real’ posts this week, for the tons of ‘test posts’ and of course for the huge amount of downtime we’ve had.

Everything got really messed up earlier this week when I by accident noticed some really strange behavior linked to one post. What was odd was that if I removed cat names (like ‘Leopard’) and ‘Digidesign’ from it I could post it without issues. You can’t even begin to imagine what kind of conspiracy theories popped up in my mind!

I think we’re alright now. The downtime was caused because I decided to move the domains. The english ProToolerBlog was up again yesterday, and as I sat typing this I got the message that de.ProToolerBlog is up again as well. Record Rocker got messed up but thanks to some very good help it was able to be restored completely.

The worst thing was that I pretty much didn’t get any work at all during this time and that I haven’t been able to update my blogs the way I wanted too. I’ll make it up with some great posts later ;)

A public apology to .apostle.

I’m sorry .apostle., but I can’t tell you what it is today either. It hit me that it’s simply not wise to launch anything on a friday in my book. Instead of reading websites people are out drinking (I know I am soon). Everything is set and ready so…

… Monday.

But ProToolerBlog is of course updated tomorrow and sunday as always!

Sometimes…

… You get help for free with things you didn’t know you needed. Thanks to Jonathan Grand at Moozek for the new ProToolerBlog favicon ;)

Another poll to change your life

I might not write that much about non-Digidesign, non-M-Audio hardware here except on the special occasions when I find something that really interests me. No matter the poll results I will continue to do that because it’s good to my mental health. But I always listen to opinion, and even though democracy are for losers, a number of changes have been made on this blog because of your opinions. So here’s you chance to control the amount of hardware reports.

I think I need to clarify what I mean by hardware in this regard. We’re not talking about other sound cards and things like that, but more preamps, microphones, monitors and outboard gear. Now vote! (and comment if you like).

How much hardware should there be on ProTooler?

ProToolerBlog - German Edition is online

I’m happy to announce that a German version of ProToolerBlog is now online. I will not be the one running it however. While I took German in school, it was some time ago, and I think I’m limited to phrases like “du bist ein Toifel”. Instead it will for now be ran by the mysterious “Mister G” who you might just know from some other famous internet site. His last name rhymes with “Dakota”… If you replace the “T” with “L”, and the first “A” with “E”.

You will find ProToolerBlog - German Edition at de.protoolerblog.com, or by simple clicking the link at the top of the right column.

We’re upgrading

We’re currently upgrading ProToolerBlog. Hopefully everything will be back to normal (or the better) soon. Engage patience.

ProTooler expands!

Since I taped some videos at Musikmesse in Frankfurt this year I figured I might as well make a dedicated ProToolerBlog channel on Youtube. I will be posting some videos there this week, starting today with part 1 of my video diary and a video of the new Euphonix controllers with Pro Tools.

More to come.

Musikmesse drawing towards its end… But only in Frankfurt

Musikmesse in Frankfurt is nearly over, and I’m going back to the great lands of the north tonight. I will continue on the Messe theme for a few more days however. Stay tuned for photos, videos, stories and whatever I can come up with!

Reports from Musikmesse in Frankfurt

I will be reporting from Musikmesse in Frankfurt. Besides the usual press releases and news I hope to bring you some truly unique content straight from the floor. I will probably update a lot, so be sure to visit often during the Messe.

I’ve added a separate category for Musikmesse that you can click in the right column. This brings up posts that only focus on it. Be sure to click the right one, I still have the category for last years fair up there!

Downtime 22/2-08
