IK Multimedia introduces a T-Racks Custom Shop

Now we’re cooking! I praised IK Multimedia when they released the AmpliTube Custom Shop – a concept I had been asking for for years! – and now they’re taking it one step further by introducing a T-Racks Custom Shop.

Just as with AmpliTube Custom Shop, you get some free stuff with T-Racks Custom Shop, at least if you pick the free version (more details on bundles later). Of course with this concept, IK Multimedia is hoping that you will buy more.

Credit Packs for purchasing à la carte models in the Custom Shop, start as low as $19.99/€15.99, for 20 credits, and go up incrementally to $499.99/€399.99 for 1,000 credits. The cost for T-RackS processors inside the Custom Shop ranges from 40 to 120 Gear Credits each.

Alongside this announcement, IK Multimedia has release the British Module, which seems to be their take on an SSL.

You’ll find details on the pricing below.

What’s your opinion on the latest generation T-Racks? Personally, I didn’t fall in love with any of the modules I tried, but they were few so maybe I just tried the wrong ones.

I very much applaud the Custom Shop concept. I tried to sell a similar concept to other designers of amp simulators until IK Multimedia finally launched the AmpliTube Custom Shop. If you’re a long time follower of this blog, you also know I’ve been asking for a proper shop built into Pro Tools for years (I like that Avid finally took the step, unfortunately unlike IK, they took a baby step). Is IK offering enough stuff to warrant a T-Racks shop? Now that’s another question, but I’m sure they’ll fill it up.

    Hi Stiff !

You should give a try to the updated White 2A and Black 76. They finally added transformer modeling and so on. The difference is subtle, but it definitely make them a joy to use now ! Adds a new dimension to the sound, especially with the Black 76.

The new De-Esser seems to be good too.

The rest I can’t comment as I didn’t really tested them deeply.

I did try the Black 76 actually. Compared it to the new UAD ones and liked the UAD more. But to each their own of course!

It’s beginning to look a lot like UAD…. (you can sing this)

PS: without the DSP card (you can’t sing this)
