Some good points.
There are some engineers out there who think, with all the technology at their disposal, that THEY are the artists.
This is not the correct perspective IMHO.
They are catalysts for the song, and of course, when they are able to remove their egos -that’s also true for artists- are often an essential part in the creative process to make the “essence” of the song “shine”.
