U-He has a new synth coming – ACE (Any Cable Everywhere)
U-He, or Urs Heckmann, has a new synth on the way called ACE standing for “Any Cable Everywhere”, implying it’s modular approach.
I’m actually looking for a modular, or at the very least a semi-modular synth, to go with my new setup. The only real problem as I see it with software modulars is the interface. I don’t mind a digital sound, but patching cables with a mouse isn’t exactly what I want to do. Nevertheless, ACE could prove to be interesting at it’s low price point and what looks to be high-tweakability.
From U-He:
ETA: early December 2009
pricing: 69EUR (includes 19% VAT, ca. 85 USD net when bought from overseas)
formats: VST on Windows, VST/AU/RTAS on MacOS X
system requirments Mac: Apple Macintosh Computer running MacOS X 10.4+ on a G4 processor or newer, Intel Core 2 Duo or better recommended
system requirments Win: VST2 compatible host software on a PC with SSE2 supporting processor, Intel Core 2 Duo or better recommended
number of presets and such: tba
fun factor: high!

Any Cable EVERYwhere.
I’m excited about this.
Wow, it’s a good time to be a musician with all of these clever/innovative developers out there.

Sorry, I must have been tired
And yes, it is a good time for musicians! Now I just want someone to make a great controller for software synths, which of course is easier said than done.
