Ive been able to get that error when OS X has file system problems, directories in the wrong locations or incompatible 3rd party plug-ins chillin in the folder when I knew I shouldnt have had them in there. The session was simple too, but still got the line 146, I try to take screen shots of most my errors and notes on what I was doing to avoid them again.

Pro Tools 8 was a HUGE improvement, but no doubt, there's a lot more that can be done. As for Logic 8 (I haven't bothered buying 9) I don't think it's superior in workflow at all. it has some really nice FEATURES though. The only great workflow addition I can think of right now is the comp feature. I STILL haven't decided if I like PT or Logic best in that regard!

I think Digidesign's really got a sort of inbred thing going on with their interface - there are so many sort of standard useability things going on now - look at how every adobe app is moving towards a common interface. And things like choosing a font in illustrator - instead of scrolling through (literally) hundreds of fonts, just type in the first few characters - "H - E" and you've got helvetica. Would be nice for picking plugins, wouldn't it? Would be cool to be able to "dock" three or four plugin windows and just pop back and forth to a plugin stack for tweaking, too. I spend so many hours in the big design/web design packages, when I go to Protools I feel like I'm back in 1987. (though I won't upgrade to 8 until after the holidays). (I do think PT is the sh*t though... what is logic like interface-wise, logic users?? Has Apple added some cool mojo to the useability/interface side??)

Ableton can reverse like that? Ableton it is today!

I got it while cutting MIDI regions. every time I used cmnd+E it would pop up. I found that I could still use the grabber tool with the scissor though. I think it went away after a restart.

I'm with you on that feature request. I ended up having to move several MIDI tracks to Ableton to reverse them and then re-import them (after an unsuccessful attempt at getting Music Mirror to run on a Mac).

Man - feature requests - you are opening pandora's box!!!!

(And on the subject - why can't I select a group of tracks & collapse them into a folder without disabling them? Like, collapse all your drums to work on vocals, collapse everything else to tweak your drums... like layers/layer groups in Photoshop. Most visual editing packages use a similar metaphor...)
