Novation presents Nocturn keyboard

nocturnkey

Novation has added two keyboard versions of Nocturn to their list of MIDI controllers. Aside from the keyboard (a Fatar, 25 or 49 keys) Novation has also added eight drum pads and transport controls to the already available encoders, speed dial and other buttons.

I wouldn’t expect it to perform well with Pro Tools. No product from Novation that I’ve tried has behaved as advertised with Pro Tools.

For more info about the new Nocturn keyboards, head over to Novation.

Novation will supposedly launch another product as well on October 1st… And I happen to now another company that also announce something new that particular day.

Major server crash

As some have seen we have experienced a lot of downtime the past 24 hours and for a short period of time massive data loss as well. Fortunately most of the site has been recovered (for a while there I thought we had lost everything since August 1st!) but some of it is gone. I apologize for the inconvenience. Believe me, if most of it hadn’t been restored heads would have rolled. I guarantee you that I will make everything I can to have the new ProTooler more stable then the mess we’ve seen lately.

itb

At the moment I’m living ITB, or perhaps in a box, but as soon as I’m halfway out the new site will be coming to a www near you soon, ready to kick some serious ass.

Eleven Rack is here

elevenrack

Avid or Digidesign has introduced Eleven Rack (it’s hard to tell who, there isn’t a logo on the unit). The word was out fairly quick after Avid/Digidesign announced they were going to make an announcement, and yes, it was as expected somewhat of an Eleven integrated with an LE interface. Let me give you a quick rundown of what it is, followed by my opinion of it.

EDIT: The very observant Mike noticed the logo on the back. It appears it’s a Digidesign product.

Elysia Mpressor plug-in coming

SSFX_hi-end_gear_2009_elysia_plugin

I bet you didn’t see this one coming: Elysia will release a plug-in version of their Mpressor. The code for it is supplied by Brainworx, which also happens to be the same guys doing the SPL Analog Code plug-ins so I expect a good emulation. Native version will be released this year with TDM to follow soon after.

You can read more about the Mpressor at the Elysia website. So far nothing on the plug-in specifically.
