VirSyn release REFLECT 2.0
VirSyn has updated Reflect to version 2.0. Reflect is actually one of the very few software reverbs I can stand so I’m looking forward to try it. Reflect is a rare breed of different types reverbs in that the early reflections are made with convolution but the tail is algorithmic.
From the VirSyn press release:
Version 2.0 of REFLECT comes with a new RealIR Engine using direct convolution of the critical early reflections without compromising the flexibility of the algorithmic reverb tail generation. The resulting density and smoothness rivals those of the most expensive hardware reverbs.
Features
– RealIR combines convolution of early reflections with algorithmic tail generation.
– Backward compatible to 1.x
– New presets.
– New User interface.
The upgrade is free.

REFLECT really is terrific. My only complaint is that it’s Syncrosoft-protected, would have rather had iLok but I’m putting up with it. It will be interesting to see how it’s changed with v2. Hopefully doesn’t sound too different on my old sessions.

I absolutely agree. I really wish they would use iLok for protection instead. At the moment Reflect is the only plug-in that makes me keep the Syncrosoft dongle around.
