Digi Core Audio driver crapping out

I’ve had tremendous problems playing back regular sounds from my 003 since I installed Pro Tools 8 and Leopard. It seemed like the Mac simply wouldn’t recognize the interface. Even if I could see it in the in and out preferences and select it there, I noticed that it really hadn’t been “found” by the computer. In case you’ve suffered the same fate, here’s what I’ve done to solve it.

Bluezone announces Tribal House

Bluezone has announced Tribal House, a pack of royalty-free loops (176 MB).

From the Bluezone press release:

All of the loops are recorded in 136 bpm of high quality and are ready to be used. A mixture of slightly salty style and very refined sounds for those who enjoy this style.

The pack is in WAV and AIFF with 128 drumloops and 232 drums: filtered loops, twisted percussion and dirty drums, which received a very precise mastering, are available in this volume.

Acousticas IR libraries

Do you need impulse responses for your reverb? Acousticas is a company focusing IR libraries of hardware as well as shorter spaces. The latter meaning not “monstrous tails of reverb”, but perhaps room that most of us are familiar with.

Their first product was an IR collection of the EMT 245 Reverberator, while end November saw an IR library of the Lexicon 300 Reverberator.

I haven’t tried their IR’s yet. If you have, let us know what you think.
