M-Audio announces compatibility with latest Apple MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops
M-Audio has announced that all their hardware and software releases are officially qualified for use with the latest MacBook and MacBook Pro laptop computers. That means all M-Audio FireWire interfaces are compatible with the FireWire 800 port on the new MacBook Pro laptops (you’ll need a 6-pin–to–9-pin FireWire cable).
Regarding the software, while all M-Audio software is supported, doesn’t mean Digidesign Pro Tools M-Powered is.

Maybe this is a little inappropriate but who has heard of protools m-powered 7.4.2 did actually support more than 16 tracks when used with for instance m-audio lightbridge? There is a lot of talking about it on fora, and I wonder if somebody knows its true. This is supposed to be a “mistake” release… so no crack!

Hi J-P,
That was about Pro Tools 7.3.2cs3 or cs2 if I recall correctly. That was glorious; however it doesn’t help me since I need 7.4cs4 to use my ProFire 2626.
This is great news though, stiff, I was kinda worried there for a while. Now I can buy in peace… Oh wait, gotta make with the income first.

“gotta make with the income first.”
Uh, yeah… That struck me a while ago as well. The way I solve it is usually that I spend the money that I don’t have (for tax etc) as soon as possible, and HOPEFULLY, nobody notices that I didn’t really have the money in the first place
