About analog channel: you said you never thought about using vintage warmer that way. How about the new mixpack by PSP. It includes a plug in calles mixsaturator2 Which is AWESOME! Choose between 3 valve and 2 tape modells (which have no names, but who cares) saturate the h*ll out of things and even blend the original signal back in...Groovy :) Like you fell in love with softube I recently had the same with PSP.

A lot of people swear by Echoboy. Up until just a few months back I've still been a regular user of the Digirack delays! I often through other things on the auxes to make them darker and "rounder" (I like the "round" quality TD5 has by the way). Analog Channel and/or an EQ usually does the trick. I haven't been using them much lately because I simply prefer to use just one plug-in in the chain rather than two or three to construct my favorite delay.

You're right: I will miss the different emulations. But I used the tape delays the most and TD5 gives something very close. I also love the NI Spectral Delay, but that's a complety different beast. I haven't tried the Soundhack free ones that much because I hate the way it looks (which for some twisted reason IS important for me) but I hear they are supposed to be very cool. I actually think I will browse ebay soon for an Line6 echopro unit....:)
Oh, and I never tried echoboy and still want to...

Btw, just realized you wanted to replace Echo farm. I haven't used Echo farm in quite some time, but if I remember correctly it's a little more flexible than the two. Could be wrong though, I think I last tried it back on v 6.x!

Better? Nah, they're just different. I absolutely adore the TD5 sound and would soundwise probably rank it slightly higher, but my taste is by no means universal (in fact, sometimes I get the feeling my taste is the opposite of everyone elses ;) ). The Softube is a good contender, so I think you should check both out for sure. I think Softube has a demo, and as you know Massey has a very generous one as well.

If you do compare them, let me know what you think!

I still have an AKG BX lying around. STEREO my friend. I don't use it that often beacause the left channel has a problem. But it sounds...well, you now what it sounds like :) One question (as I was just about to buy masseys TD5 simply because I think it's the best LE replacement for Echofarm which I adored) Is tubedelay better (In your opinion) then TD5? Is it worth checking out for me?
