Celemony Melodyne DNA delayed

The talk for many of this years Musikmesse, the new version of Melodyne with Direct Note Access, has been delayed. It was originally intended to ship this fall, but we’re now looking at a 1st quarter 2009 release.

From Celemony:

For Direct Note Access, we have had to reprogram virtually all Melodyne leaving scarcely two consecutive lines of code intact… We are nearly there; the software runs; but there are still a few things that require work and some road works that are causing delays. We expect therefore that it will be some time yet before all the features have been fully implemented and the program assumes its final form.

Shortly before the release, a public beta, open for all registered users of Melodyne (any version) will be released.

There are 2 kickass comments ~ what do you think?

  1. This makes me think that they somehow cheated in their original demonstrations.
It seemed to work perfectly fine in that fancy promo video…

  2. I really have no idea, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case.
