Available now: M-Audio Guide for the Recording Guitarist
M-Audio has released the M-Audio Guide for the Recording Guitarist, written by Chris Buono. The book is described as “a complete how-to resource for the guitarist who wants to take advantage of today’s creative hardware and software technology”.
From the M-Audio press release:
As a long-time M-Powered endorsee and close friend of the company, Buono knows M-Audio gear inside and out. While writing the book, M-Audio Guide for the Recording Guitarist, Buono worked closely with M-Audio product specialists and support staff to ensure that the material was clearly presented and technically accurate. The end result is an informative, easy-to-read publication that takes you step by step through purchasing and setting up your equipment to recording, mixing and mastering final songs. It’s the only guide you need to create high-quality recordings in the home studio.
I of course haven’t read it, but it sounds like a beginners guide more than anything. Below are the chapter topics.
• The Essential Gear
• The Audio Interface Explained
• Setting Up Your M-Powered Empire
• The Joys of Recording
• The Black Box Revealed
• Face to (Inter)Face with Pro Tools M-Powered
• Editing 101 and Some M-Powered Empowerment
• An Introduction to Mixing and Mastering
• Working with Loops
• Working with MIDI
