I'm with Ron. I'd say RealGuitar is actually okay if you want strummy acoustics set back in a track. It sounds better if you record two different "guitars", and pan them left-right. The flams help conceal the sonic limitations. Obviously I wouldn't use it to make a folk album. But there have been times where I needed that kind of acoustic feel in a writing session, and 1) there was no guitar to hand 2) the acoustics of the writing room were awful for recording an acoustic.

RealStrat isn't as good. But there's even less need for it, because you can always D.I. an electric, use an amp modeler, and sort the sound out later. It doesn't depend on the room.

I have RealGuitar which is good for rhythm stuff buried deep in a track. I have RealStrat which is okay at best every now and then. The Pettinhouse guitars are actually pretty good when you run them through an effect (like Digi's Eleven.) But MAN the papen module sounds absolutely awful. I spent about 20 seconds listening to the demo and was left just scratching my head. How could he think it sounds good?

...forget all about that processed sh__ and learn how to play guitar....

That will be the first and last time I will quote or paraphrase john cougar melonhead

Playing a guitar sounds infinitely better than the samples I heard on this site.

And who is the Con Quesodor who composed those samples. I like my stock verizon cel phone ring better!

sounds like shXX, i don´t know who needs a thing like this one....if you listen to the demo songs.......absolutely NO chance! why is papen spending his time on a plugin like that? just to have a filtered rhythm guitar???
