PowerCore X8 Sonnox Edition now shipping

I think this was announced for release in march, but I got a tip that it started shipping just now (anyone correct me if I’m wrong). TC Electronics DSP solution, the new PowerCore X8, is now shipping in ‘Sonnox Edition’, this basically means it includes Sonnox Oxford EQ and Oxford Dynamics in addition to 15 other plug-ins. The suggested retail price is €1599.

There are 5 kickass comments ~ what do you think?

  1. So, if you had to choose between UAD or a PowerCore, which would you choose?

  2. I don’t have any real world experience with either. But in addition to deciding what plug-ins you prefer, there’s a price difference as well.

  4. yeah, this looks an attempt to take on the Duende by shipping it with an inbuilt channel strip flavour (albeit for quite a bit more money!)

  5. I actually think that’s a great idea. If I were to buy a DSP solution like this I would do it to be sure that it could runt 24 or 32 or XX number of instances of EQs and comps. Special reverbs or other FX doesn’t really interest me, a guaranteed virtual mix desk does.
