I just received this email from Audio Ease.
Since the All In Bundle release yesterday (previous post – ed.), Audio Ease received many concerns about the requirements to be allowed to upgrade to the All In Bundle. Audio Ease decided to change the structure accordingly, and now wants to emphasize that upgrading to the All In Bundle is possible for all Altiverb 6 or Speakerphone customers, not just those that purchased in 2008.
Prices haven’t changed and are shown here at Audio Ease’s website.

The pre-release of 7.4.2 is now available.
From Digidesigns website
Digidesign has announced the immediate availability of a pre-release version of Pro Tools® software that provides expanded Mac OS X 10.5.3 Leopard compatibility for many Pro Tools users. Pro Tools 7.4.2pr software is provided as a convenience for Mac-based Pro Tools 7.4 users who may wish to begin their transition to Leopard before a fully tested and qualified version of Pro Tools becomes available.
Pro Tools 7.4.2pr software is available as a download only, and requires Mac OS X 10.5.3. Pro Tools 7.4.2pr is not compatible with earlier versions of Leopard. It’s free for registered 7.4 users. Pro Tools HD 7.4.2pr includes new support for Avid Mojo® and older Apple Mac Pro computers.
Now I haven’t made the jump to Leopard (guess why) so I’m not plagued with all these problems, but personally I wouldn’t jump on this version if I didn’t absolutely have issues with my system. I would definitely not upgrade from Tiger to Leopard because of this version if Tiger is stable. After all, this is called a pre-release.

Audio Ease has bundled all their plug-ins and Snapper. The suggested retail price of the All In Bundle is $1195/€ 960, with expected street price around $1095/€875, meaning savings over $500.
Besides Altiverb, the All in bundle includes Speakerphone and all other plug-ins of Audio Ease: Periscope, Riverrun, Deep Phase Nine, Orbit, Follo and Roger. The bundle comes in two shapes, either with Altiverb XL (TDM surround) or with the regular Altiverb 6. Upgrades are available to customers that have purchased either Speakerphone or Altiverb in 2008, and upgrades are sold up to october 31 2008.

Here’s the latest in Leopard news (from Digidesigns website):
Over the last several months, we have been working closely with Apple on fine tuning Pro Tools for OS X Leopard 10.5.3. Now that Apple has released version 10.5.3 we can enter the final stages of performance testing and quality assurance before making fully qualified versions of Pro Tools HD, LE and M-Powered software available to our customers.
As a convenience for our customers who may wish to begin their transition to Apple’s latest Leopard release as soon as possible, pre-release versions of Pro Tools 7.4.2 will be made available in the next few days. While the pre-release versions of Pro Tools 7.4.2 have passed core internal testing requirements, the process for manufacturing fully qualified Pro Tools software normally takes up to several weeks to complete depending on performance and stability.

FabFilter has released FabFilter Volcano 2, the successor to their filter effect plug-in. More filters and routings and supposedly unlimited modulation possibilities in FabFilter style make Volcano 2 much more powerful. It also boasts a in their own words ‘revolutionary new what-you-use-is-what-you-see interface’.

Home of Sonnox in Oxfordshire
Sonnox traces back to Sony Oxford who besides making a legendary digital console (OXF-R3, ‘the Oxford console’) also made some of the most popular plug-ins ever. Not long ago they released their first plug-in since the breakup from Sony so I thought it would only be fitting to ask them some questions.

I have launched a new music review blog called Record Rocker available at www.recordrocker.com. I will review both new and old albums (music is timeless) from both established and un-established independent artists.
In fact, I hope to review your music. Submitting music for review is easily done using the form here. If you don’t have an album send me your Myspace link or your bands website.
But beware! I’m a total jerk when it comes to music reviews
I’ll not be running Record Rocker by myself. Free foe is already helping me out and more authors will join later.
If you want to do link exchanging then add www.recordrocker.com to your links, shoot me an email (stiff [at] protoolerblog [dot] com) telling me you’ve done so and give me the link to your music or audio related website.
The page is still in a form of beta and the design will be modified later but I couldn’t wait to make it public!
Enjoy, and don’t forget to sign up to the RSS feed.
