Prosoniq announce the immediate availability of version 2.0.8 of their award winning TimeFactory 2 for MacOS X software. This version fixes a potential crash when the application was launched and the prefs settings were invalid. It also allows automatic updating on machines where the current user is not the administrator and fixes several minor bugs. This update is recommended for all users of the software.

Prosoniq

This month only, McDSP will be offering the ML4000 Native mastering limiter plug-in to any and all users for $295. The ML4000 Native plug-in is RTAS and AudioSuite compatible. This is certainly one of my favorite limiters and is certainly a unique piece of software. But don’t take my word for it, try it out for yourself.

Native Instruments

Hey all. Sorry for not updating with any posts yesterday, I was ill and at bed almost the entire day. I’m a little better now but this damn cold just won’t give me a break. It’s been a little thin on the reviews lately and I was looking to post some recently but my health just flat out said “nope, don’t bother boy”. Don’t worry, though, I got some great ones coming up. Kontakt 3, Speakerphone and the latest version of Guru among others. Or how about that?

It also struck me that it’s been a while since I ran any Spotlights here, and I figured I might run another one soon. If you have any ideas on what you want to see in there be sure to let me know.

Ever since AES much of the talk on the web about Digidesign have been regarding pricing. First on the C|24, then on the new Mbox 2 Micro. The opinion that Digidesign makes too high priced products is not new. To me though, it is sometimes accurate, and other times not.

Softubes Vintage Amp Room was released quite some time ago for Powercore and TDM users. It took a while, but it has now found its way to native users as well. In case you didn’t know, it’s more or less an amp simulator that goes the opposite direction that other amp sims have done the last years.
